Gold Rush Hash

Gold Rush is traditional pressed hash — the old-school kind, made the way it has been for generations. The resin is collected, warmed and pressed into bars, then stamped while it's still soft. That pressing is what gives it the shine: a golden-brown surface that darkens slightly toward the centre, with a texture that stays pliable rather than going brittle.

These come as sealed, stamped bars. No loose crumbles, no dust in the bottom of a bag — you get the bar, intact, the way it was pressed.

Sweet and earthy on the nose with a warm spice underneath — closer to tobacco, cedar and dark honey than the sharp citrus you get from flower. The smell is noticeable but not loud, and it doesn't travel the way a jar of loud flower does.

On the hit it's smooth and full-bodied rather than sharp, and it comes on slower than smoking flower. Give it a few minutes before you decide you need more. The finish is warm and settling — this is an evening and end-of-day smoke more than a get-up-and-go one.

It cuts clean and crumbles easily, so it works however you like it. Rolled into a joint with a little flower it burns even and slow and stretches a session out. Crumbled onto a bowl it'll keep going well past what you'd expect. If you've got a vape that takes concentrates, it works there too.

Because it's pressed rather than sieved fine, it's forgiving — easy to handle, easy to portion, and it doesn't fall apart in your fingers the way bubble hash can.

Keep it sealed and somewhere cool and dark. Pressed hash doesn't like heat — too warm and it softens and starts to sweat; too dry and it hardens and loses the pliability that makes it nice to work with. A sealed jar in a cupboard is fine. In the fridge is better if you're keeping it a while, as long as it's properly sealed and you let it come back to room temperature before you open it.

At 30g the rate works out at about €5.67 a gram. At 100g it drops to €3.30 a gram — roughly 42% less per gram for buying the bar rather than the portion. If you're someone who goes through hash regularly, the 100g bar is the one that makes sense, and it keeps well enough that there's no rush.
